A New Wolf Guard Pack Leader
I started with a collection of parts that included the badic 1:56 scale mar8ne components I had made for my truescale marine project from years ago. It was based on the Jes Goodwin soace marine design from his Gothic and Eldritch art book. Always loved the shape of it and thought it would be a fun addition to the army. Also, it would s5abd out from the rest.
I selected all of the parts that I thought would fit the idea of an advancing Pack Leader, similar to the Combat Patrol one that was released not too long ago. I thought the pose and the bulky armour would look great.
I started by putting the legs together in a position that would resemble a kind of job forwards. I played around a lot with the pose and thought that this was the better one, so locked it all in with superglue. I then started to flesh it out with the body and bits.
After test fitting all the pieces the parts wrre glued down with superglue. Where the grey plastic touched each other I put a bit of liquid poly on the parts to weld them together and give a bit more rigidity.
Here you can see the model next to a Primaris Lieutenant that I had previously kitbashed for the army (his storm shield is a cast of one of my 3D models). I think the size fits well. The next step is to do some filling with putty and prepping areas for some fur and extra details. That won't be today though as it's late.
The last thing to add is that I made a couple of push moulds for some wolfie details. I'll show what it is in the next post. I'm hoping it's going to look good on the miniature.
I am looking firward tofinishing this off and painting it up. I think I find this process so far really enjoyable. Have an idea in your head, make it and paint it. It's one of the reasons I got into the hobby in the first place.
See you in the next update.
